Send it to read first
A signature costs credit whether or not the document was right, and a wrong one costs a second send to redo. Sending the document to be read first lets the people who would sign it say "the rent is wrong" while fixing it is still free.
It sends exactly what the signature send would: the same PDF, with the values you filled in. There is nothing to sign, no signature request is created, and no credit is used.

It goes to everyone in the signer rows who has an email address. Once they tell you it's right, send it for signature as normal.
What they receive
An email headed "Please review:" and the document's title, saying you sent it to look over before it goes out for signature, and that nothing is being signed yet. Replies go to you, the sender, not to FormsUI.
The button in the email, Read the document, opens a page at
/preview/<code> on the address you sent it from (formsui.com, or
forms.civicport.io for a CivicPort community). No sign-in is needed: whoever
holds the link can read it. The page says "For review", repeats that nothing is being
signed here and that the signature request comes separately, and shows the
document with a button to open it full size.
How long the link lasts
On the Send a document page you choose, next to the button:

From a submission's dialog, the link is always the seven-day kind.
Once a link has lapsed or been withdrawn, the page says the link has expired and to ask whoever sent it for a new one.
Documents with identity details
If the values you filled in answer identity questions, such as an SSN, a tax ID, a passport or driver's licence number, an account or routing number, or a date of birth, the link is protected more tightly:
- it can't be kept with no expiry, and the send says which answers are the reason;
- the one-off link lasts 24 hours instead of seven days.
Send it as a link that lapses, or take those answers out first.
Withdrawing a kept link
A kept link has no expiry, so it has to be one you can find and switch off. Kept review copies are listed under Filled PDFs on the Fill out a PDF page, alongside filled documents. From there you can copy the link, stop keeping it (so it lapses in a week), or withdraw it so it stops working for everyone.
